The Queen of Hearts

So, the last week of Christmas Break Nancy and I decided that we needed to do something fun to end our vacation right.  A while back, we had seen that there was going to be a Princess Diana exhibit at the Queen Mary and decided, at the time, that it was a must see.  Months later, however, we still had not seen it, so what better time than now!

No pictures were allowed in the exhibit, so this is the best we could do.

It was a pretty cool display.  It wasn't really a Princess Diana exhibit as much as it was a British Royal Family exhibit.  There were TONS of cool artifacts and information, pictures, etc. from over the years.  They had a royal wedding display in which they had stuff from Princess Diana's wedding to Prince Charles as well as stuff from Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton.  Then, at the end of the exhibit, they had a room full of the dresses Princess Diana had auctioned of for charity a year or two before she died.  And then, they had a room with some of Kate Middleton's dresses, including this one:
that she wore when she and Prince William announced their engagement.

This dress and those shoes were there too!  Super pretty in person!

And we got to see this blouse that she wore for her official engagement pictures!
There were several other outfits and dresses on display too!
I'm just gonna come right out and say that it was SO cool!  Totally geeking out right now!  haha!

After finishing the exhibit, Nancy and I went into the Tea Room for some dessert.  We had a pretty view of the ocean, right outside the window and the chocolatey goodness we ordered was delish!

And it was pretty too!  Bravo on presentation!

It was a great day!  Getting stuck in rush hour traffic on the way home kinda sucked, but it gave us more time to talk and hang out!  Yay for sister time!
