Scott and I met on August 11, 2011 and he's been my very best friend ever since. The past few years, we've made it a point to do something special for our anniversary. Last year it was dinner and a movie and this year it fell on a Friday, so when I asked Scott what we were going to do, he suggested Disneyland. After work, he came over and we got on the road. Since we both have annual passes, there was no crazy rush to go on all of the rides and we got to move around at our leisure. We have fun wherever we go and, even when everything in life is hard, there's always a reason to smile.
This guy has kept me laughing for 5 years now and I couldn't be more grateful!
A few years ago we went to the zoo where there was a carousel. I love carousels, but he didn't know that and when I suggested we ride it, he said that he had no desire to go around in circles. We were new friends at that time, so I just let it drop and accepted the fact that he doesn't do carousels. Not that big of a deal. Fast forward a couple of years and he now knows that I have a thing for carousels. We were walking past King Arthur's Carousel and he stopped and said, "Wait. We need to go on this one." I said that we didn't and it was no big deal, but he just looked at me and walked into the line anyways. I know it's something small and silly, but it made me so happy!
We'd both worked full weeks and both of our jobs are very stressful, so we didn't stay super late, but we had a lot of fun together and it just reminded me again of what a blessing he is in my life and how grateful I am to have him as my very best friend!
