Queen Mary Birthday Adventure!

So, I love birthdays...not so much my own, but OTHER people's birthdays!  And I like to take time to celebrate the "big days" of people who are important to me.  Scott turned 26 on Feb. 28th, which, of course, meant that there had to be a grand adventure.  I gave him 2 options: San Diego or the Queen Mary in Long Beach.  Since he had never been there, he chose the Queen Mary.  So, the Saturday after his birthday, we headed out to Long Beach and, miraculously, made it there without getting lost.  Before we left, I informed him that I get lost pretty much everywhere I go and that this adventure could turn into a big adventure very quickly.  He, then, informed me that he also gets lost everywhere he goes.  Great.  haha!  Not to worry, I had my trusty GPS and we did just fine and did not get lost the entire day!  So, once we got there, we looked around the ship a bit and then did the 2 ghost tours.  We got to hang out and have fun!

 Inside the Queen Mary
We didn't really take any pictures while we were walking around the ship, so right before we left, we were scrambling to find good places for pictures.  So, if you think this bell one is kinda random, you might just be right!  ; )  But it's a good one, just the same!

It wasn't a particularly crowded day, so we were able to see pretty much everything and then we decided to head out for dinner.  Since he picked the Queen Mary because he had never been there, I decided to make it an adventure of doing only things he had never done before.  So, Roscoe's was the obvious choice and it was awesome!

We had to wait a while before being seated, since Roscoe's is fabulous and, therefore, crowded, but it was worth the wait.  I, of course, got the chicken and waffles, but Scott decided to be a rebel and order something else, which was totally fine since he was the birthday boy!  However, I was determined that he try the waffles (Roscoe's has THE most delicious waffles ever!) and ordered the meal that came with an extra one.  So, he did get to try the waffle, which, as my friend Kim says, is like a churro, but flat.  Mmmmmm!!!

After dinner, we headed back to Scott's house, where we watched a movie called "Old Dogs", which, in keeping with the theme of the day, he had never seen and I hadn't either.  It was hilarious!!!  We both laughed SO hard!  If you haven't seen it, you need to go watch it.  Right now.

It was an awesome day and it was SO nice to be able to go on an adventure!

Happy Birthday, Scott!
