The first thing we did was see the Water World show. Scott had never seen it and wanted to get good seats, but the only good seats available were in the soak zone. We decided to live dangerously and sit there anyways. Ya know...it's always a good idea to get soaking wet first thing in the morning...in January! Fortunately, a bunch of schmucks sat in front of us and shielded us from most of the water. Also, I think, knowing that it wasn't the warmest of days, the actors went a little easy on us poor folks in the soak zone. This, however, marked the first time in my entire life that I have ever sat in any type of soak zone at any park. Ever. I'm glad it worked out and we didn't get drenched!
The next thing we did was wait 40 minutes for the Back-Lot Tour and, of course, had this song in our brains the whole rest of the day. Actuall, let's be real here, this song was in my head the rest of the week! We did, indeed, have a tramtastic day! :) It was kind of funny because, apparently, everyone Scott knows was there on that day and we ran into all of them! haha
We had to wait more than an hour to go on the Mummy ride, which is like a minute and a half long and we waited more than an hour and a half to go on the Transformers ride! That one was actually pretty long and fortunately waiting in line isn't so bad when you're having fun. With that said, though, we did start to experience some delirium after a while and I started entertaining us (and those around us) by singing "I'm a Little Teapot" with the motions, of course, followed by a rousing rendition of "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". This prompted Scott and I to enter into a lengthy debate on the correct way to make the spider. It's ok, though. He can stay wrong and I'll just keep doing it right! ;) Juuuussssst kidding! haha! We also ended up singing ALL verses and choruses to "The Wise Man and the Foolish Man" in harmony! At times, the people around us were pretty entertained by our antics, including the 5 minutes or so in which we apparently just tried to see who could make the ugliest/weirdest faces at each other. It wasn't an official contest, but we just kept giving each other weirdo looks until the line started moving again! haha We also had fun playing charades on the long escalator rides as we rode back up to the upper lot. Three words: knee, cup, smooth. ;)
Anyways, it was a great way to start the year and it was such a fun day! I am obsessed with pictures, Scott...not so much. However, because he's awesome, he always humors me by suggesting good picture spots at the end of the evening when I'm in despair (not actually despair, but you know what I mean) because we didn't take a single picture! NOT EVEN ONE! The entire day! He has good taste in picture spots because these were pretty good backgrounds, even though the lighting did make us look like 27% freaky! haha
On the way home, we stopped at Berries and got frozen yogurt, which we took back to my apartment to eat. We learned an important lesson from this: whipped cream cannot make it from Berries to my apartment without melting, running down the side of the cup, all over Scott's hands, and then onto his pants. Also, when trying to get everything in from the car while carrying this cup of melted whipped cream, you get it all over the car seat, the car door handles, and then it runs down the back driver side door, resulting in a mandatory car wash the following day. Two words, however: WORTH IT! It was hilarious and it made us laugh pretty hard! Any ways, what a great day! Can't wait to have more awesome adventures this year!
